Learn how to write and win classroom grants with author Chris Taylor
Teachers work hard to support learning in their classrooms -- spending hundreds of dollars of their own money each year in the pursuit. As a parent volunteer, Chris Taylor saw these efforts first-hand and wanted to help. So, she used her experience as a lawyer and an educator and began to write grants. Chris’s grants brought nontraditional funds into the classroom so a wide variety of innovative projects could be implemented. As more and more teachers, librarians and parents asked her advice on grant writing, Chris wanted to write a step-by-step guide to demystify the process. The result was her book, Granted! A Teacher's Guide to Writing & Winning Classroom Grants. Chris continues her efforts to help educators and school volunteers by offering workshops and presentations on the grant writing process from finding the right grant to creating the right proposal. She has been interviewed on radio and television regarding her ideas on classroom grant writing.
