Peter and Lisa: A Mental Illness Children's Story

Peter and Lisa: A Mental Illness Children's Story is about two people affected by depression and mania. This sweet, straightforward book helps children understand these conditions and lets them know that with the proper medication and support by family and friends, people can get better!

Whether the child is mentally ill or interacting with someone who is, Peter and Lisa is a helpful read for young people who simply need to know more about mental illness. Authors Charles and Linda Katz offer gentle, insightful education on the subject and a powerful message of hope in one neat package.

About the Authors: Charles and Linda Katz, husband and wife, were raised in the Jewish faith and live in Kew Gardens Hills, NY. Linda is a Peer/Mental Health Advocate and is also the author of Surviving Mental Illness, My Story. Charles has helped Linda promote her book and gives charity to those organizations that do quality work for the mentally ill. Both suffer from mental illnesses and were unable to have children of their own, so they decided to write this book for children to understand that mental illness is treatable and that people can live normal, healthy, happy lives.

Linda Baron Katz lives in Flushing, NY. She can only travel in the New York City Area. Would like to speak in schools near her home in Queens, NY. She has done public speaking with other agencies but has never had a chance to speak in schools which she most certainly want to do.
